10.15.2011 BeAtlanta House Party of Horrors
Opposing Suns – I should’ve known, BeAtlanta’s shows have NEVER started on time. I thought it might be different this time now that they actually put up a band schedule on the flyer, website, Facebook page… Nope, they started 1.5 hours later than scheduled.
I got there at 8 and hung out with Waking the Bates and Novakord for a couple hours until the music started.

First up was Clint Bussey of Opposing Suns doing a solo acoustic act. I liked it! It was a darker, heavier sound for an acoustic set…but I still enjoyed several of the songs. It was a good tone-setter to start off the evening.

Waking the Bates – Next up was Waking the Bates. I really wanted to hear them play “Said and Done” again live, and I was ecstatic to see them open with it! The whole band dressed up as 70s greasers and played an awesome set. I think my best shot of the night came from Nick Bach, I got an awesome closeup as he was screaming at my camera!

Novakord – Novakord tore the house up! Wes came suited up in full spaceman gear and facepaint and just blew the house up! They were so good they caught the attention of the Atlanta Police Department who came by to check out the set. This was the first visit from old man po-po who gave BeAtlanta it’s first noise complaint of the evening. Good job guys!

The Sneaky Hand – The Sneaky Hand went all out for the BeAtlanta show, coming out in full-body glow paint! These are the guys I stuck around all night for. The Sneaky Hand ALWAYS puts on a great show no matter where they’re at. Unfortunately the Atlanta Police Department put that to a stop. After only 10 minutes or so, the show was disbanded by the police due to noise complaints. I’m actually amazed it hadn’t happened before.
I actually think this whole mess could have been avoided had the show started a little earlier…
